Song of the day: Charlton’s Athletics anthem


           
Students journey at the London Field Trip 2016 was coming to an end on February 13th, 2016 . Frank and I decided to play the Charlton’s Athletics anthem song to get everyone familiar for the game we were going to go later in the afternoon. The rainy and windy weather in London that day was not going to stop us from enjoying our last hours together as a team in London.
The first stop was to the “Hampton Court Palace” a huge palace full of history from the magnificence of Henry VIII's favourite royal residence, It took us more than an hour to get there but it was all worth it as everyone was so looking forward to have our last lunch together, the famous “Fish and chips” at a little Local restaurant close to the Hampton station where we all waited to get our fresh and delicious meal that we had to take to the train as we were running out of time to get to our next destination. Everyone running with their boxes full of food that we couldn't wait to eat, we finally made it on time to catch our train towards Charlton where we were going to cheer for the Charlton vs Cardiff football game, not american football as you might be thinking but what we call in Canada “soccer”, in London they call it “football”, we had a great time at the game as it was contagious hearing people cheering for Charlton and all the passionate row of 10 year old kids we had in the back row yelling “ if you are Charlon stand up with us, if you are Charlon stand up with us”.




Text Box: “Let’s do it for the last time”            Finally, we were on our way back to the hotel to be able to fresh in up before having our last dinner together at the “Davy’s Wine Vault”, were we all played an activity our instructor Robin started, so every time after a course meal we would have to change seats and interact with different members of the group for the last time, and share our experiences. As the night went on Robin and Christine surprised us with some funny but pretty accurate awards that everyone received, we had titles such as “Lieutenant of the forgetful” that went to Hillary who surprisingly kept losing her “Oyster card” (like our Compass card) but it was always in some hidden place inside her bag . But wait a minute, we also had an award thank you card for Robin where we all expressed our thoughts and thankfulness towards him. This was the end and everyone felt so happy but at the same time sad that this amazing experience where we made new friends, faced challenges and acquired knowledge came to and end.

LONDON Field School x2 - Mia, Rose & Oscar 2019  On our last full day in London, We took two trains in the London Underground to get to Camden Markets. By this point in the trip we were tubes experts. Arriving in Camden Town, we walked to the "The Basement Tea House" so everyone knew where to come for our tea reservation a little later in the day - and good thing we did! We walked through narrow corridors amoung shop owners setting up their stalls, down a lift to the basement. London Field School 2019!

London Field School 2019: Day 1 – February 15 th Carley, Chloe and Maria Song of the Day: London Bridge, by Fergie Check out our trip video on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WD33ii01kXI Our first day in London started at the Westminster Pier, from there we caught the ferry to the Greenwich Village. Thames River is the lifeblood of London, and as a result you will find many of the most popular tourist attractions on the river's banks. We enjoyed the views from the upper deck and when it got too windy, we used the opportunity to go down to the warm hall of the lower deck and get some coffee. The knowledgeable crew was giving a live commentary of all the sights along the way. You get great views of all the landmarks and learn a bit of history on them all. Study Abroad Spring 2018 - Darmstadt Germany  Darmstadt is a nice small city, it’s vey easy to get around in and close to Frankfurt for that big city fix. Between the Darmstadt main train station and the Frankfurt airport it’s a really good location to travel from. When I first arrived it was so cold and we even had snow! Thankfully the temperatures have started to warm now. Language is actually not a huge problem, I’ve been learning German but once it’s clear that your German is poor people will generally switch to near perfect English. Though the biggest test of language will be when my design classes start, as those will be in German! Aside from language, one of the biggest shocks to the system here is having so much free time. Our regular design classes don’t begin until April, so March has mainly been orientation events, school organized day trips, and German language classes.
