2016 China Field School: Shanghai
Waking up from a night of adventure was very tough. Luckily there were two shuttles to the airport, one being early and one being later so whoever went out late got a little extra time to sleep in and recoup. Lots of the group took advantage of this 👍. Everyone got down to the lobby on time and we departed to the airport. We shortly arrived at a train that took us the last little bit of the way. We grabbed some grub at the train station right before which was definitely needed for the partygoers.
Once we arrived at the airport, we checked in our bags and went through security. From there we got to our gate and awaited boarding. Once on board the plane, we had to wait in the runway a while due to a delay which may have been from a backup of planes leaving. We soon left after and were on our way to Shanghai! Kelly was really excited for this big city! On the flight, Jas thought the water was a tad weird as it came in plastic sealed cups? Was definitely strange.
The flight was good and we arrived at nightfall. From the airport we took a bus too the hostel we were staying at. However, we didn’t leave right away due to a bit of the group not knowing where the bus was and getting lost. We regrouped with them not too long after and were on our way to the hostel. Navid was super happy to see us again! Once getting there we spilt into our sleeping groups and called it a night. Shanghai nights begin.
