Lauren and Andy: Skyfall

Song of the Day: Skyfall by Adele. We chose this song after much discussion because we were traveling to Bond St. and it happened to be foggy in the morning.

Date: Tuesday February 19, 2013

Main Activities for the Day: Visited with Gordon Campbell (Canadian High Commissioner) and a tour/presentation at Global Radio

Favourite Moments and Things Learned:
Lauren- Both of the events we did today were educational. I like both for different reasons. Meeting Gordon Campbell was very intimidating, it felt like meeting a celebrity. He was so friendly and welcoming. I was surprised to find out that he had such long hours during the day; I didn’t consider the time difference between London and Ottawa and how that could effect his work. It was interesting to hear his opinions and comparisons of the Vancouver and London Olympics. He seemed to feel the Vancouver Olympics were “better” however he admitted to it being more fun because he is from Canada.

At Global Radio, we had a presentation about how it got started and all the different brands, stations, locations, and how it all works. I found it really cool to walk around the building. It is such a modern an fancy building, with so many colours. It is definitely my style! Having someone show us how the action DJ’s worked the music and live mic was very interesting as well. Today was a really great day, very professional and educational.

Andy- We saw the High Commissioner today. Melvin was happy to meet him. After the High Commissioner, we took Melivin to a restaurant called Mews which was good. Melvin was scared though because it was a higher class restaurant. Melvin and friends only order sandwiches because the rest was too expensive. Melvin and I say thank you Mr. Gordon Campbell. Because Melvin didn’t get to see the Global Radio Tour, I enjoyed the Gordon Campbell visit more. To apologize to Melvin we took him to a nice restaurant for dinner.
